WHAT IS OBESITY?
The terms obesity refers to individuals who are overweight by 30 percent more than it should. Obesity occurs when the accumulation of excess fat in the body. Obesity is defined as body mass index (BMI) exceeds 30.
It can happen to anyone when the individual is less activity, taking unhealthy diet and can be also a problem related to diseases in the body of the individuals involved.
Obesity also affects the hormonal imbalances that can interfere with a woman’s menstrual cycle.
A study was done already meet the fact that women with obesity have risk by 28 percent to not be pregnant and if they were pregnant, their pregnancy will not made it to the stages of labor. The study has been proved by a researcher from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology University of Michigan United States, Barbara Luke
CAUSES OF OBESITY
- 1. Genetic factor/heredity
May occur among family members with same diet and lifestyle
- 2. Depression
Some people overeat when feeling pressured. This means that feelings or emotions influence eating habits.
- 3. Increase age
Older people usually tend to be obese.
- 4. Environmental factor
Most people who are obese are those who are influenced by the lifestyle of people around them. Unbalanced eating habits coupled with a sedentary lifestyle can lead to obesity.
- 5. Pregnant
Pregnant women tend to eat more during pregnancy. If not control with proper diet, pregnant women may experience weight gain after delivery.
